Is That Covered?

Did you know that electronic devices like your iPad and GPS unit may not be covered by your auto policy if stolen from your car or damaged in an accident?

Portable devices that are battery-powered and not permanently wired into your car, such as your iPad, are generally not covered by auto insurance. A homeowners policy or renters insurance may provide coverage for theft or damage, but only up to certain limits – usually $1,000 or less.

If you routinely keep electronic gadgets like an iPad, GPS device or laptop in your car, ask your Farm Bureau agent about adding optional coverage, which can provide a higher level of protection for high-priced electronics.
